Our Kingston branch sponsor promising para-karate athlete

Jackson Fire & Security’s Kingston-upon-Thames branch sponsor local para-karate athlete Joseph Clifton. Joseph, 21, has been doing karate for around 10 years with Abel Karate based in Elmbridge, Surrey. For the last couple of years he has also been training with the National Para Karate Squad.

Joseph started his karate journey in Abel Karate’s Be Inspired Project, which are classes for children with additional needs, before eventually being moved into mainstream classes.

Joseph is now getting back to competing both nationally and internationally after the pandemic put a stop to karate competitions temporarily. Joseph made the most of his time in lockdown taking part in karate over Zoom and socially distanced sessions with his coach.

The exciting young para-karate won GOLD at the 10th Commonwealth Karate Championships which took place in Birmingham this September 2022.
